About

Hi, my name is Ella Warner and I am currently studying Business Administration and Communications at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Growing up in Los Angeles, I was surrounded by creative voices on the daily, influencing my choice to study media and its overwhelming presence in society. There's nothing I love more than writing––whether it be a crippling research project, essay, or screenplay, I truly feel at home when I am surrounded by words. And yes, I am a firm believer in putting an old-fashioned physical pen to paper. Besides this, I am an avid pianist where I enjoy the challenge of composing my own score to accompany my short films.

Crafting short films was an integral part of my middle school career as I was a proud member of the Cinematic Arts Academy at Millikan where we learned industry-standard techniques at the ripe age of 12. While I was writing screenplays on Final Draft and editing documentaries on Adobe Premiere Pro, I had a powerful glimpse into my future of filmmaking.

My love of film has remained prevalent since this program, but my Humanities High School introduced me to the power of writing and critical thinking. Here, I combined my love of film and analysis to eventually fall down the path of journalism. From film critiques, to praise, to celebrity gossip, I have my finger on the pulse. Between 2022 and 2023 I was published through the LA Times, and on the board of their high school advisory board.

Nevertheless, after taking a media studies class during my senior year, filmmaking has made its way back into my life. In this class, we focused on the symbiosis between filmmaking and analysis, eventually crafting our short films––where I won Best Screenplay. I hope to nurture this love in my upcoming years at Northeastern, and delve into the complexities of entertainment business and production.
